There are some people who have spent their lives wrapped up in cotton wool, and are incapable of doing anything for them. It is surprising that there are a number of people who do not know how to make their own bed. Making a bed should come as second nature to everyone, but unfortunately there are many people who do not know how to make their bed, which is why they are now trying to find out. There will be a number of reasons as to why you want to find out how to make a bed. You may have a new girlfriend or boyfriend, and suddenly realise how embarrassing it is not to be able to make a bed. Or maybe your wife or husband is tired of the fact that they always have to make the bed, so you have taken the first step in learning. Here are some step by step instructions of exactly how you should make your bed.
The first thing that you will need to do is take the bottom sheet and put it over the mattress. Since you are new to bed making, it may be a good idea that you go and purchase some fitted sheets. They fit comfortably around the mattress so that you do not have to tuck it in yourself. If you do not have a fitted sheet to hand then you will need to take a flat sheet and place it over the top of the mattress, be sure to leave enough sheet so you can tuck them under the mattress. Take the long sides of the sheet and tuck them underneath the mattress at the head and foot of the bed. You will need to make sure that the folds are flat, and then tuck the sides in so that the sheets are pulled tightly over the mattress.
Bed Sheet Sizes
Now take the top sheet and do the same things, but this time only tuck the foot of the bed in and not the head. Add your blankets by repeating the above step, and then fold the top sheet at the head of the bed over the blankets. Pull the sheet backwards approximately half a foot and then tuck it under the flaps at the sides. Put pillowcases over the pillows, and then place them over the top of the sheets and the blankets. You can either lay the pillows down flat, or you can stand them up against the headboard. You can now put a quilt, bed spread or a comforter on top of the bed. You will need to fold the top part of the spread which is near the head of the bed downwards and place the pillows on top, and then fold it back up over them. This will leave some of the spread tucked underneath the pillow. If you have extra pillows for decoration purposes you can place them on the bed accordingly.
